"AUTHENTIC ADULTS," a citywide fellowship or communion of young adults and the ministries or churches they represent throughout Jacksonville, has been launched by the King's Church.

AUTHENTIC ADULTS is a ministry outreach of young, professional, and career minded adults throughout Jacksonville and the Southeastern region of the USA who love Jesus, desire to serve Him fully, and to impact and transform the city and region.

As loyal and committed members of a variety of local churches throughout Jacksonville, we recognize a disturbing truth that in order for Jacksonville and the surrounding region to radically be transformed will require the all the churches to connect with each other through pastoral leadership or eldership and learn to function as one. Because of these things, our vision is of necessity an unfolding vision that will periodically be adjusted and amended as the Lord gives us more light from the Canon of Old and New Testaments, the basis of the testimony of Jesus, the faith and practice of His original apostles.

While we recognize that the modern church is fragmented and divided into various denominations and sects, we believe the Lord is pouring out His Spirit around the globe, reviving, restoring the foundations established by Jesus and His original apostles, and reforming His churches so that together we might function as one Holy Apostolic Church throughout the world.

AUTHENTIC ADULTS does not claim to be the whole Church. We are simply a fellowship and outreach of Kingdom-minded business and professional leaders from diverse backgrounds and a variety of local churches within the Lord’s One, Holy, Apostolic Church in Jacksonville and the Southeast region of the USA, who are seeking to rise above the things that presently divide and weaken the modern church, to rediscover the reality of Christ's Kingdom, and transform our city, region, and even by the grace of God, the local churches where we are members. We do not claim to have a monopoly on apostolic truth, but confess that we are hungry to know Him more fully, who is the truth, and passionately desire to see His Church revived, restored, and reformed, so that it might succeed in it's Kingdom purpose to disciple our city, cities throughout this region, our nation and all nations, and ultimately fill the whole earth with the glory of God the Father!

AUTHENTIC ADULTS seeks to rediscover, experience, and extend the fellowship of faith demonstrated by the Lord's Church in the first century, the communion the apostles enjoyed with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, where every believer found individual placement in a local allotment of believers under valid spiritual oversight or fatherhood, and yet where the whole Church was still connected or joined together through apostles and elders as part of the larger household of faith. This fellowship and ministry outreach will ultimately be made up of a network of diverse young adult groups from a multitude of ministries and churches throughout Jacksonville and the Southeast region of the USA joined together in the Spirit of the Lord Jesus for mutual recognition, consultation, cooperation, and accountability, all in order to strengthen and extend the reach of Christ's Kingdom.

As we begin this citywide fellowship, the meetings of AUTHENTIC ADULTS will be hosted by REACTION, a ministry of the young adults who are members of the King’s Church in Jacksonville and headed by Teben Pyles. However, once Authentic Adults has been established and a regional council formed with representatives from the various participating church groups, then the regional council and it's chairman will set the venue of the meetings.

AUTHENTIC ADULTS will meet every other month on Thursday nights from seven to nine. Our meetings will be divided into three parts: We will begin with fellowship and social interaction, transition into praise and worship, moving supernaturally into spiritual intercessions and testimonies. As the Holy Spirit directs the Authentic Adults Regional Council, we will hear anointed messages and special teaching targeted towards young business and professional leaders and their issues and concerns. These messages will focus on rediscovering Christ's Kingdom, spiritual gifts, interpersonal relationships, prayer and spiritual warfare, the Kingdom and the market place. Finally, to broaden our awareness of what is happening in the larger Church of Jesus Christ throughout the city and develop a greater sense of interconnectedness and unity, AUTHENTIC ADULTS will set aside a portion of time at the end of our meetings for special updates and reports regarding Jacksonville or special regional issues. In these and many other ways the young business and professional adults in the various churches that together make up the Church in the city can begin to work together as Kingdom leaders to host important events and address citywide or regional concerns.

We believe that God is in the process of restoring the ministry of apostles to the Church and that with the restoration of true apostles will come the restoration of the apostolic faith, the apostolic experience of the fullness of the Spirit, the fellowship or communion of the apostles, and the functional unity of the body of Christ that Jesus Himself established in the very beginning of Messiah’s Day. As the apostolic movement emerges and matures, apostles, apostolic companies, and the networks or jurisdictions of churches that they represent will eventually come together in the fellowship or communion of the apostles as One Holy Apostolic Church in the earth with one faith, one common experience, and one governmental order. Only as this happens, and by the grace and power of God it will happen, will the whole body of Christ be fully reformed, and civil governments, cities, and nations of the earth come to the light of the Church’s rising.
