Our Mission

The King's Church seeks to experience the love of Jesus, connect through worship, and minister the love of God to the community of Jacksonville and to one another.

We are on a quest for the authentic faith of Jesus originally entrusted to the apostles and revealed to us in the Scriptures. We are committed to knowing Him and building His Kingdom not ours. He is head of the Church and this church.

Learning to hear, follow, and worship Christ the King in the Spirit and in truth is the heart and center of the King's Church.  Our worship and prayer services, communion, discipleship training classes, ministry and outreach opportunities are all designed to please the Lord and enable the saints to push back darkness.The Lord has given us powerful spiritual weapons of faith, hope, love, prayer, service, creativity, passion, and beauty. As the light of Jesus dispels the shadows in our lives we are free to shine everywhere we go. The King's Church is a place where light meets darkness and the darkness runs.

Christ the Almighty King

The illustration to the left, "Christ the Pantocrator", is a print of a 14th Century painting of Jesus of Nazareth, risen, ascended, and seated on the throne of His father David, ruling heaven and earth as the Son of David and the Son of God.

(It is called by early Christians, the PANTOCRATOR, which means ALMIGHTY GOD).

Jesus Christ is the virgin born Son of God, i.e. fully God and fully man. He is Lord of heaven and Ruler of the kings of the earth, and He is the Savior of all who come to God the Father through Him and the Chief Apostle and Head of His Church.

Our passion at the King's Church is to rediscover the authentic faith of the original apostles of the Lamb (i.e. Peter and the others) and the first ascension-gift apostles (i.e. Paul and Silas) and apply that faith to our individual lives and to our contemporary situation in today's world.

Just as the first century Christians, we believe Jesus of Nazareth is the God-Man. He is the Savior of the world and King of heaven and earth today. He is seated on the throne of His father David at the right hand of God in heaven forgiving sins and pouring out His Spirit on all who believe and obey the Gospel. He is also riding forth out of heaven in response to the prayers of His saints, judging and making right everything that is wrong with the world.

What We Believe

The Apostles’ Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. AMEN.

The King's Church is an allotment or local congregation of the one, apostolic, catholic or global Church of Jesus Christ the King. All of the last 2000 years of the history of the Christian Faith is our heritage and we acknowledge that Christianity did not begin with us; we have a common heritage with the whole body of Christ. We think that what you do is what you believe. Visit us sometime and see for yourself what we believe.

We are available to answer any questions. We offer a special Pastor's Class, "The Essentials of Apostolic Christianity", that covers our beliefs about Jesus, His Kingdom, His Church, and our world. You may e-mail our Pastor at gekouri@mac.com to learn more about the class or to set up a special appointment to discuss the Christian faith or to find placement in His global body.

The King's Church is also an active member of the Apostolic Ministries And Churches International and under the spiritual jurisdiction of the Communion of Apostolic Churches. To learn more about our vision as a congregation or review in more detail what we believe you may visit AMCI and the CAC at www.cacvirtual.org and review the About the CAC, the Articles of Constitution, and Member pages.
