Our Mission

The King's Church is on a quest. Not for the latest fad or hottest buzzword, but for the authentic faith of Jesus originally entrusted to the apostles and revealed to us in the Scriptures. We are committed to knowing Him and building His Kingdom not ours. He is head of the Church and this church.

Love God, Love People. God is relational. He jealously desires our hearts. He wants us to share life with Him and with each other. Covenant with God is a deep, living relationship where the greatest question in our lives is, “Father what do you desire?” Learning to hear, follow, and worship Christ the King in the Spirit and in truth is the heart and center of the King's Church. And relationship with each other in His covenant of grace and developing Kingdom culture is as important to our purpose as breathing is to living. Knowing God without loving people is as empty as not knowing God at all. Real, connected, sacrificial relationships are sweeter to God than all the hymns ever sang. Our desire is to be known in Jacksonville by our love.

Push Back Darkness. Our worship and prayer services, administration of His ordinances, discipleship training classes, ministry and outreach opportunities are all designed to please the Lord as head of the Church and enable the saints to push back darkness. Spiritual conquest of Satan's kingdom (the kingdom's of this world) is the rising of the sun that pushes back darkness. It is the anti-venom that saves the body from the snakebite. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. The King's Church exists to be a part of the advance of Christ's Kingdom in Jacksonville. Not through picket signs and bad attitudes. The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly. Instead the Lord has given us powerful spiritual weapons of faith, hope, love, prayer, service, creativity, passion, and beauty. As the light of Jesus dispels the shadows in our lives we are free to shine everywhere we go. The King's Church is a place where light meets darkness and the darkness runs.

As a partnering member of Apostolic Ministries and Churches International and the Communion of Apostolic Churches (a global communion of ministers and churches) The King's Church and it's members are actively involved in global missions in strategic cities and nations throughout the world. We are also involved with the Apostles Theological Seminary in training a new generation of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, and raising up Kingdom leaders for the global Church. To learn more about what we are doing in partnership with other ministries and churches globally visit ATS at www.atsvirtual.org and AMCI and the CAC at www.cacvirtual.org.

What We Believe

The Apostles’ Creed

We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. AMEN.

The King's Church is an allotment or "local" congregation of the one, apostolic, catholic or global Church of Jesus the King. All of the last 2000 years of the history of the Christian Faith is our heritage. There is much in that heritage we love and much that embarrasses and shames us. However, we acknowledge that Christianity did not begin with us; we have a common heritage with the whole body of Christ. We think that what you do is what you believe. Visit us sometime and see for yourself what we believe.

We are available to answer any questions. We offer a special Pastor's Class, "The Essentials of Apostolic Christianity", that covers our beliefs about Jesus, His Kingdom, His Church, and our world. You may e-mail our Pastor at gekouri@mac.com to learn more about the class or to set up a special appointment to discuss the Christian faith or to find placement in His global body. (This e-mail address is protected from spambots.)

The King's Church is also an active member of the Apostolic Ministries And Churches International and under the spiritual jurisdiction of the Communion of Apostolic Churches. To learn more about our vision as a congregation or review in more detail what we believe you may visit AMCI and the CAC at www.cacvirtual.org and review the About the CAC, the Articles of Constitution, and Member pages.

Our Pastor

Bishop George Kouri has been in the ministry for over fifty years, serving the King and His Church as a pastor, evangelist, missionary, and educator. Originally ordained as a Southern Baptist, he is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also has a Doctors Degree in Theology.

In his early ministry, he served as a pastor in several Southern Baptist Churches in Oklahoma, Texas, and Southern California, later traveling in evangelism for a number of years, ministering both in local churches and city-wide Crusades. In 1969 Brother Kouri came into the experience of the "fulness" of the Holy Spirit. Since that time he has been deeply involved in the renewal and the reformation of the Lord's Church, planting churches and training leaders in the United States and on the mission field. During the past thirty years he has traveled and ministered extensively in India and throughout Africa conducting evangelistic crusades and ministering in Church Conferences and Leadership Training Seminars.

Brother Kouri is widely respected by church leaders across denominational lines as an "apostolic-father" in the body of Christ. Today, he continues to travel nationally and internationally, speaking in conferences and training Church leaders. He combines a deep knowledge of Scriptures, Theology and Church History with a sensitivity and responsiveness to the Holy Spirit gained through decades of experience in evangelism, church planting, missions, structuring and ordering of church life, and training Christian leaders. He is committed to the restoration of the foundations of Christianity, to the reformation and development of the Church, and to seeing cities and nations transformed by the power of the Kingdom of God.

In addition to serving as Pastor of the King's Church in Jacksonville, Brother Kouri gives overall headship to Apostolic Ministries and Churches International, a jurisdiction of ministers and churches in the United States and abroad and one of the founding apostolic jurisdictions or ministry spheres of the Communion of Apostolic Churches. He also serves as the Presiding Apostle and Bishop of the Communion of Apostolic Churches, a global communion of apostles, fivefold ministers, and churches, and as the Chancellor of the Apostles Theological Seminary.  Brother Kouri is author of The Sign of The Kingdom and a number of other books and courses for the Apostles Theological Seminary.  His personal website which host numerous important articles may be accessed at www.georgekouri.com.
